Biografi til: Greger Gregersen

Faddere ved dåpen: Ole Johannesen og Margit Skogen, Lars og Aslaug, samt Anne Kittelsdtr. Skogen. Pleiebarn hos Torjus Olsen og Liv Johnsdtr. på Rauneflåten under Lonar i Sauland i 1865. Torjus og Liv kom fra Lisleherad. 1875 bodde Torjus og Liv på Kaasa (Opp-Skrubhol) under Gjestrud. Tjente trolig på gården Teigen i Lonargrenda før han reiste til USA i 1880. Han kalte seg Gregar G. Teigen da han reiste, og han oppgav Hjartdal som hjemsted. Husmannsplassen Rauneflåten som han bodde på sammen med fosterforeldrene lå i skogen opp for Lonargrenda. Han bodde sammen med ekteparet Anton og Aslaug Molstad. De bodde først i Normania i Yellow Medicine county i Minnesota. Senere flyttet Anton og Aslaug til Madison i Lac Qui Parle county. Gregar flyttet sammen med dem dit. Aslaug Molstad var Gregars søskenbarn, hans mor var søster til Aslaugs far, Gunleik Kittilsen Kasin.
Obituary for Gregar Gregarson
Gregar Gregarson passed away at the home of Mr. and Mrs. A. N. Molstad in this city on
Sunday afternoon. This last year he had been gradually failing and was confined to his bed five
weeks ago until his death. The deceased was born in Hjertdale Telemarken, Norway, Sept. 11,
1856, and was sixty-nine years and three months old at the time of his death.
He immigrated to this country in the spring of 1880, and came to live with Mr. and Mrs. A.
N. Molstad the forepart of the year 1884, and has made his home with them since that time.
He returned to his old home in Norway for a visit in 1890 and returned to this country in

the spring of 1891. He leaves to mourn his passing, besides a number of friends two cousins,
Mrs. A. N. Molstad of this city and Sivert Gullickson of Cottonwood, Minnesota.
Funeral services were held from the A. N. Molstad residence on Tuesday afternoon at
1:30 and from the Madison Lutheran church at 2:00 o'clock, the Revs. Tetlie and Rorem
officiating. The remains were laid to rest in the Madison Lutheran church cemetery.
The pall bearers were M. Soholt, A. Hjelmeland, Theo. Slen, J. P. Larson, P. Satre and H.
L. Sorknes.
